3 Keys To Streaming Utah Games Online

This is an exciting time for Utah’s basketball fans. With the season more than halfway over, the Utes are ranked squarely at number 13 by AP Top 25 Poll and 11 by USA Today Coaches Poll and are poised to make the NCAA Tournament – only their second times in the last decade. The Utes’s transition into the Pac-12 conference has not been as smooth as one would hope. Larry Krystkowiak, replacing Jim Boylen, was hired to be the Utes’ first head coach in the Pac-12 era, but began his tenure with two straight losing seasons, uncompetitive against Pac-12’s better known basketball powers such as UCLA and Arizona.

This season, with UCLA struggling to make even the NIT after losing half of its player to NBA draft, the Utes were able to take advantage and sit only behind Arizona for the conference title. As Utes fans, you don’t want to miss this possibly magical season. If you haven’t been following the games, you should start now and these are the three essentials you need to keep up with Krystkowiak’s squad.

  1. Pac-12 Network App

The majority of Utes basketball games are broadcasted by the Pac-12 Network, the conference’s independent channel which follows teams across all sports. You can stream games live or catch the replay on your mobile devices using the Pac-12 Network app which is available for iOS, Android and select Kindle devices, or go directly to the website. In either cases, you will need to login using your cable subscription information, provided that your cable provider carries the channel.

Unfortunately, the Pac-12 has not been able to strike a deal with DirecTV and Charter, so if you have any of these services, you are in tough luck. But chances are, you have a friend or know someone who has subscriptions to ATT Uverse, Time Warner, Comcast, Cox etc, all of which carry the Pac-12 network and he or she may be generous enough to share his/her login information with you.

  1. WatchESPN App

The remaining half of Utes’s games is broadcasted by one of the ESPN family of channels, including ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU. Thus, WatchESPN.com or its app is another must have for Utes fans who want to follow their team during basketball season. WatchESPN allows you to stream all ESPN events live, though local blackout may apply. You can also stream the replays or videos on-demand. Similar to the Pac-12 Network app, the WatchESPN app requires you to login using your cable subscription user information. However, if you are a student or a military personnel connecting using on-campus or on-base wifi, the service is free.

  1. Vipbox

If all else fails, you can always check Vipbox, a website that provides a huge selection of streaming links to live events, some official, some not. The quality of streaming may vary, but due to the huge numbers of choices available, you are almost always guaranteed you could find one that would work for your need. This would be ideal for games that are not broadcasted by Pac-12 network or one of the ESPN channels. Other alternative websites to stream Utes games are firstrowsports, ATDHE, and the notoriously bad P2P4U.
