Football is and always will be ‘king of sports’ in Texas. Baylor University has a top tier football program, but the Bears’ basketball team has a long history with a good amount of success. Baylor would play their first basketball game in 1907 but didn’t find much success in the early years. They would reach the NCAA tournament three times and even make the final game in 1948 but lost to Kentucky.
After their appearance in the 1950 NCAA tournament, they wouldn’t return to the ‘Big Dance’ until 1988. Twenty more years would pass until the Bears’ next trip to the NCAA tournament, but things were completely different by that point–Baylor had become a tough team under coach Scott Drew. The Bears’ made the 2008 NCAA field and have been back three more times reaching the ‘Elite Eight’ on two occasions.
Baylor doesn’t have a massive enrollment like many high profile sports schools with only 17,000 students on their Waco, Texas campus. What their alumni base lacks in size they make up for in passion. Bears’ boosters can be found all over the world, and one of the best ways they can watch Baylor basketball action is streaming online. Best of all, it’s extremely simple–if you follow these four tips:
FOUR SMART TIPS ON HOW TO WATCH BAYLOR BASKETBALL ONLINE:
1) CHECK THE SCHEDULE FOR TV INFORMATION:
Most teams will play games on more than one network during the regular season and tournaments. Baylor fans have it much easier than most schools–26 of the Bears’ 31 regular season basketball games are live on one of ESPN’s family of networks. The other five are on regional Fox Sports affiliates. The Big Twelve tournament is also on ESPN with any NCAA games on CBS. There’s a very easy way to keep this information close at hand–print out a season schedule on the Baylor athletics website.
2) SEE WHAT VIEWING OPTIONS COME WITH YOUR CABLE PLAN:
If you’re in the United States and have cable TV or satellite service you’re in very good shape. ESPN has excellent digital capabilities with most everything shown on the network streamed live on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN mobile app. Cable/Satellite subscribers get free access to both digital services, and that’ll set you up for 26 regular-season games and the Big Twelve tournament. CBS streams the entire NCAA tournament online so that’s not a problem either. The handful of Bears’ basketball games on the regional Fox Sports networks are a bit trickier.
3) VISIT STREAM2WATCH.ME FOR A 24/7 ESPN FEED:
If you’re not in the US or don’t have a cable/satellite subscription, there’s another way to get live streaming ESPN network programming. It’s easy to locate a 24/7 live network feed stream of all ESPN networks. You’ll then be in good shape just like premium TV customers with ESPN streaming access. You can find ESPN network streams on Google, but the easiest way to do it is visit STREAM2WATCH.ME. They’re one of the best live sports streaming sites but also have streams for a wide variety of US TV networks including all of the various ESPN incarnations. Finding a reliable ESPN feed will take care of your streaming needs for the majority of Baylor’s basketball schedule, and a visit to STREAM2WATCH should be all you need.
4) FIND SOME GOOD SOURCES FOR INDIVIDUAL GAME STREAMS:
It’s also a good idea to have a few solid sources for individual game live streams. This method will be the best option for any Baylor basketball action not shown on ESPN. There are a number of live streaming websites online that offer a comprehensive index of links to live game streams in all major sports. Three of the best are FIRSTROWSPORTS, VIPBOX and ATDHE. You should be able to find any Baylor Bears’ basketball game on these three sites, while avoiding spammy streaming sites like P2P4U.
